Sometimes people ask me why I don’t write more op-eds. The truth is I think we should all share our opinions less online. I do not believe I have anything novel or enlightening enough to share on a vast majority of the trending topics that pop up online. I also don’t believe anyone cares that much about my thoughts on many topics. My propensity for delusions simply does not extend that far.
Imagine if others followed suit.
This week we’ve heard a lot from people we shouldn’t have on topics they had no business speaking publicly about. Freedom of speech does not preclude you from looking silly, I’m afraid.
Anyway. This Friday, I am keeping it short and inviting everyone to speak less. (At the very least, if you’re an editor committed to being silly – publicly, at that – don’t be mad that your employees aren’t interested in going above and beyond on your publication’s behalf.)

The Container Store had a sale all weekend and I’m in my 30s so, yes, this was the best thing to happen to me all month. Among my purchases was an airtight storage box for my print articles.
Creeping on my little sisters via their YouTube vlogs. Most of you know I love to have a vlog on in the background when I’m not doing work that requires deep focus, but I’ve just been hesitant to watch their vlogs. I simply don’t feel like I’m supposed to be in their business likeee thatttt. But, people seem to love the fun facts that I 1) have siblings and 2) my twin sisters are influencers so…I watched and I’m sharing.
We’re one week closer to being PAST election week. Lord Walder, ENOUGH. LET IT END.
