I was so stressed out earlier this week that I shut my laptop, walked into my backyard and just stared at my garden. I touched the swiss chard and kale, and felt the soil to see if anything needed to be watered. I cannot tell you how many times I’ve done this over the past two years since my boyfriend and I started growing veggies in our backyard. This garden grounds me. It reminds me that work is important, but having a life and hobbies outside of my job are, too.
I hope you all also had small reminders of that this week.
And, because we don’t do highlight reels over here, here’s an example of a #plantfail in the garden.
I’m keeping the newsletter brief this week as I’m working on a few stories that are set to drop within the next week. BUT, a special issue of the newsletter will drop next week for the 2-year anniversary of the YSL indictment.

Kendrick Lamar - euphoria
Beef is BACK, baby, and it’s electrifying. Let Kendrick’s disdain for Drake be a reminder to us all to “tend to our grudge gardens” every now and then, in the words of my friend (and the queen of chisme), Murial Vega.
Billie Eilish Would Like to Reintroduce Herself by Angie Martoccio for Rolling Stone
Angie got to spend so much time with Billie for this profile and it shows. I’ve been a big fan of the singer’s music since Don’t Smile at Me, but I honestly don’t know much about her beyond the basic details of her life. It was so delightful getting to know her through this cover story.
I laughed way too hard at “we’re growing Swiss chard?!?” as well as the #plantfail.
